We arrive to Lisbon, midday, just as it is preparing for the
Festival of St. Anthony, the patron saint of the city. Small bands of costumed revelers and drummers march in and around Rossio Square, right in front of our hotel window. We step out for dinner at
Figus, right around the corner: yummy cod cakes and fig salad. After, we wander down the Rua Augusta toward the Tejo River, with the smell of grilling sardines and the melancholy sounds of fado in the warm summer air.
